Every donation made towards the McVitie Fund until June 30th will be matched, up to $5,000!
We are so grateful to Renu Bakshi, one of VHS’ amazing monthly donors, for generously committing to matching every donation VHS receives towards the McVitie Fund before June 30th, up to a total of $5,000.
Rocky’s story: When Rocky’s guardian was tragically killed, Rocky was taken in by his guardian’s father, Ameer. Rocky has been Ameer’s anchor since the loss of his son. When Rocky developed a hernia and needed a lumpectomy, Ameer reached out to the McVitie Fund for help. Ameer is on disability income and couldn’t afford Rocky’s veterinary care.
VHS contributes approximately $500 to each case we assist with. This year, we anticipate that the McVitie Fund will help approximately 200 animals in need, with an estimated expenditure of $70,000.
Your donation today towards the McVitie Fund matching grant will:
– Cover the cost of veterinary treatments ranging from simple antibiotic treatments for infections, to major surgeries for bowel obstructions, dental work and broken bones.
– Keep animals with their loving guardians, ensuring that no animal is unnecessarily surrendered or euthanized.
– Enable VHS to provide a specialist trauma-informed care response for vulnerable clients that are struggling financially.
